Between 28th and 30th March, 1915, the 2nd East Surrey battalion of 85 Brigade, 28th Division, were holding the line in the trenches at St. Eloi in the Ypres salient during which time they had a number of casualties, mainly from shell fire, including Harry Barker who was one of the seven men killed on 30th March before they were relieved and moved back to Dickebusch. |
