From 10th – 16th May, 1918, the 18th London battalion of 141 Brigade, 47th Division were in the front line at Hénencourt to the west of Albert. The only entry in the Battalion Diary for each of the seven days they spent there is is “In the line-quiet” . It was not so quiet however for William Paisley and two other men who were killed on 13th May, probably as a result of shell fire. |
