James Baldie died from wounds on 20th May, 1915, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 14th London battalion had arrived in France in September, 1914 and had joined 1 Brigade of 1st Division and had been involved in much of the fighting on the Western Front since then, most recently during the Battle of Aubers Ridge on 9th May, 1915.
