On 1st April, 1917, the 8th Middlesex battalion of 167 Brigade56th Division relieved the 2nd London battalion in the front line south-east of Beaurains near Arras. They were relieved themselves on 4th April and moved back to support and reserve trenches at  Agny from where they made preparations for the start of the Battle of Arras on 9th April and from where they provided working and carrying parties for various duties. Harry Parsons died from wounds on 6th April but it is not known when he was wounded.
