On 18th April, 1915, the 2nd Rifle Brigade battalion of 25 Brigade, 8th Division moved into trenches at Fleurbaix where they remained until relieved on 21st April. William Goat died from wounds on 19th April and it is likely that he was wounded during this period in the front line but the battalion diary provides no information concerning his death. |
