HMS Seagull was a torpedo gunboat of the Royal Navy  with a crew of ninety . At the outbreak of war she joined the Grand Fleet where she was converted to a minesweeper. On 30th September, 1918 she collided with a merchant ship, the Steam Ship Corribb in the Firth of Clyde and sank with the loss of fifty three of her crew. One of these was Frank Jones.
