Current Information:Age-32 7, Mulgrave Road, Fulham On 16th November, 1914, 1st East Surrey, 14 Brigade, 5th Division took over trenches east of Lindenhoek, near Mount Kemmel for an 8 day spell in the line. It was bitterly cold weather and they were subjected to persistent German shelling. On 22nd November the support trenches came under heavy and accurate fire for 3 to 4 hours and several men including Sergeant Ball were killed. On 24th November they were relieved and moved back to billets in Dranoutre. |
