Current Information:For much of the summer of 1918, 41st Division were in the Ypres sector of the Western Front where, on 9th August, the 15th Hampshire battalion of 122 Brigade were selected to straighten out a nasty little salient near La Clytte in the Kemmel sector following the German retreat from the Lys salient. Their objectives were quickly achieved, despite meeting tough resistance on their left, but this success did not come without a price. Over 40 of their number were killed or missing and another 104 were wounded. George Wedderburn was one of these casualties. |
